What is an Episcopalian?

The Episcopal Church is a member of the Anglican Communion.  We share the rich heritage of the Anglican Church which may be described as the reformed catholic Church in England.  Our faith is based on Scripture, the ancient creeds of the Church, and the teaching of the Church Fathers.  We are a sacramental and worship-oriented church that strives to change lives by bringing everyone into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

We pursue this goal by drawing on three sources of revelation given to mankind by God: Holy Scripture, tradition established by the saints of the past, and our own God-given reason. We believe that through this process and through prayer God leads the Church to answers sufficient for our time.

As travelers into the heart of God, we encounter the Christ through our journey, in the lives of others who have committed themselves to him.

The best way to learn about the Episcopal Church is to join us on our journey.
